A Sovereign dies

In a very solemn and gracious ceremony in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the body of Queen Elizabeth II was lowered down the Royal Vault laying her finally to rest in the hope of the resurrection. She was a defender of the faith. The world gathered to pay our deepest respect to the sovereign lady, to her service, her reign, her gifts - united in grief that we are no longer able to say, “God save the queen.” Over 2000 years ago, The Supreme Sovereign died hanging naked on a cross and the people gathered to mock “If you are the Son of God, save yourself.” What a contrast between the two sovereigns!
