My leadership diary #1: Leadership is a lonely journey

Leadership is a lonely journey. You cannot desire companionship yet desire to lead.

The higher you climb the leadership ladder the lonelier you should become. The more successful you become, the more you will be misunderstood. Leaders who seek to please people, hence shy away from taking the tough right decisions, never stand out. There are times that you should stand with your people and there are times that you should stand out. Whenever you desire to lead, check how well you can cope with loneliness and ridicule.  They are synonymous with good leadership
